Why does this BlogBridge Wiki exist?

Let's start with the truth and nothing but the truth:

BlogBridge is a very famous Java based RSS reader but the BlogBridge help system is not able to share that fame (in October 2006).

If you need help or explanations about specific menu items you have to search the BlogBridge-Homepage, search the BlogBridge-Forum or even worse try to find something through search engines.

The good thing is that BlogBridge is pretty self explaining.

The idea to collect help subjects in a BlogBridge-Wiki came up first in a BlogBridge-Forum thread (September 25, 2006).

Looking for specific help subject is pretty impossible

As the BlogBridge-Team is pretty cooperative and is not only listening to the BlogBridge-Praises but also to the critics (see above :) one day Pito Salas (Project Leader, Programmer) announced the existence of this wiki in his BlogBridge-Blog post (November 2, 2006).

Community Production: The BlogBridge Almanac

"We’ve always been aware (and you have reminded us from time to time) that BlogBridge isn’t sufficiently documented. Well the truth is that we spend more time on the product than on the writing. Frankly it’s been my experience that hardly anyone reads the prompts in dialog boxes, let alone actual documentation. ..."

Truly a wise last sentence, but ...

The wiki form was chosen because everybody who is logged in here can pretty easily contribute by adding simple explanations or even more detailed tips and tricks in an easy open form. The easiest way to contribute is to post a link to a well fitting forum post or comment - recycling existing content this way without too much personal effort.

And here it goes and hopefully this wiki grows ...
